Well, here's my latest - Bill Greene's guitar all finished.
Stats:
East Indian RW b&s
Sitka top
Black Acacia bindings
BRW bridge & fretboard
Paua heart rosette

Oh, the finish is Nitro Lacquer. The first guitar I've done with it. I like it!

I have seen this guitar up close. It is very nice. I am sure it sounds great too. Keep up the good work.

Guys this guitar looks BETTER In REAL LIFE! Don had it at ASIA, although it didn't leave his room I had a chance to see it up close and personal, before strings -and the workmanship is second to none!

It's a Small Jumbo ala James Olson.
The silk on that top is truly amazing. I had two of those sets, and the other is on the ziricote dread as seen on my website. That guitar is going to be a cannon.
This guitar was the best sounding guitar I've done right from the initial string-up. The mids are really strong, the bass is nice but not overpowering, and the trebles also are very nice. I think if you're into fingerstyle, it would be a great guitar. It has a very nice voice up and down the fretboard. I suppose Bill will chime in eventually and give you his impression of it. He goes by the name "Simplyhere" on this website.

Bill and his wife (his better half, for sure ) came into town yesterday for the day from North Carolina to pick up the guitar and go to dinner with my wife Mary and me. We had a great time, and Bill seemed enthused about the guitar a little, and relieved that it wasn't a dog.
He actually bought a plane ticket for the guitar, and it got the window seat on the trip back. Wow....and I thought we builders were rabid about our guitars!

That is beautiful, the wood really talks especially on the top, and your customer looks really happy.

Bridge pins are StewMac's bone pins with abalone dots. I like them a lot.

I had the guitar at the NEL table the first two days at ASIA, and some OLF & NEL folks got to see it then.

Nice git Don! How long did you let that lacquer cure before buffing? I think that is about the most level lacquer ever! Beautiful!!!

Colby, the lacquer sat for around 2-3 weeks before it was levelled and buffed out. It's not perfect by any means, but it's pretty good.

Well, at the risk of disagreeing with Don, this guitar is anything but boring. The beauty, build quality and fit/finish of this guitar is outstanding. Don was patient with all my goofy questions, and handled everything with the utmost professionalism. I told him in an earlier email, that about the best compliment I could ever pay him is that I believe this is a lifetime guitar, and that I would order another one from him without a second thought. I love it, and could not be happier

I've only had a day or so with it now, but the tone is just fantastic. Played open, it has nice volume, which one would expect. The best part is that volume just doesn't diminish in the upper registers or in closed positions. It rings like a bell. Some picky friends have already played it, and they raved about it. All of them were impressed with the fat, meaty tones - and all agreed that the sustain is most impressive. We played it through one of Doyle Dykes' amps, and it's marvelous.

Some day soon, I hope to record this one on Don's behalf and add it to your MP3 links. I'd also like to publicly thank Don for building the best guitar I've ever owned!
